NBA 2K13 [PS3 Unboxing]

Since the game came out today, I'm going to pick it up and my GameStop [since I Pre-Ordered It]. It's for the PS3 and includes a All-Star DLC for both the PS3 & Xbox 360, not the Wii, Wii U, or PSP.

NBA 2K13 Demo Releases Tonight!

If you guys remember Jay-Z is the Executive Producer of the upcoming game NBA 2K13. If you click the link that says 'NBA 2K13' it will redirect you to the official soundtrack stream by Spotify. The game releases exactly next week [as of when I'm writing this]. So the demo is coming out tonight for the PS3 & Xbox 360 at the PlayStation Network [PS3] and Games Marketplace [Xbox 360]. At about 6-9pm PSN and 4-9am Marketplace [EST]. So Xbox users already got it and me and my bro are still waiting for it downloading it right now at 6pm! I might do a recording of it and post it on my YouTube account and put it here.

T.I. – Trap Back Jumpin

Over the past several years, T.I. has attained much success through creating hip-hop records that translate into radio hits. But it would be a mistake to forget songs like "Rubberband Man" and "ASAP" that solidified him as an artist created by and for the street. Luckily, Tip hasn't forgotten that either. With his newest release, the King brings it back to his roots in a major way with a beat produced by the renowned DJ Toomp and lyrics that sound like they could have been saved from the Trap Muzik or Urban Legend days. Appropriately, this one is titled "Trap Back Jumpin." With the latest single from the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation surfacing earlier this week, Nashville DJ/producer Wick-it the Instigator comes through with a reworking of his own for Clique. Making the track more EDM-friendly, Wick-it ups the bass, adds some drums and gives us his trap rendition of the tune. With the news of Kanye West and Skrillex set to collaborate on a track, maybe this will give fans a better idea of what to expect. G.O.O.D. Music – Cruel Summer (Tracklist)

While a rumored tracklisting for the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album Cruel Summer has been floating around for few days, Friday Amazon UK released and confirmed the list of tunes set to make the final album. Fans can expect 12 tracks on the new album, five of which have already been released, and, excluding G.O.O.D. Music members, features from the likes of R. Kelly, Ma$e, Marsha Ambrosius, Travi$ Scott, Raekwon, Jay-Z and more. Kanye West featuring Jay-Z & Big Sean – Clique [Artwork + Snippet]

After unveiling the official artwork for his star-studded new single Clique - which reconnects him with his Watch The Throne compadre Jay-Z and G.O.O.D. Music soldier Big Sean - a 30-seconds snippet of the Hit-Boy-produced tune has arrived on the internet. Although much too brief, it indicates that we are in for a special treat. Cruel Summer is set to hit shelves September 18, stay tuned.

After supplying us with two teaser videos, Big Sean drops a full visual piece on the eve of the Detroit mixtape release. Titled RWT, aka Roll Weed Time, the video sees Sean Don cruising the streets in his Jeep and spitting lyrics while out enjoying nature in the Mike Carson and Mike Waxx-directed flick. The track is produced by SouthSide and KeY Wane and you can expect to see it on the new tape set to drop later today.

Frank Ocean Performing on Saturday Night Live Season Opener

Less than 24 hours after the announcement that Frank Ocean will perform at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live is set to be another port of call for the R&B singer. SNL’s season curtain raiser will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane and will air September 15. The double high profile appearances could go some way to making up for the string of cancelled shows in Europe and an August 1 show in Detroit due to illness.

Seemingly out of nowhere comes the official music video for Lupe Fiasco's collaboration with Australian singer Guy Sebastian, called Battle Scars. The song has been conquering the charts down under and has now received the visual treatment in support of Lupe's Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album. As we know, Lupe has always been somewhat culture-pushing in his approach to music, and lyrical content. Hence, it comes as no surprise that offering also carries a strong positive message.

Will.I.Am Teams With NASA to Broadcast Song From Mars

Will.I.Am has teamed with NASA and Discovery Education for a special educational event that includes a new song that will be broadcasted from the Curiosity rover on Mars. "Reach for the Stars," a cosmic tribute from the Black Eyed Peas leader, will premiere at a special event tomorrow starting 1 p.m. PDT [4pm EST] at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Frank Ocean continues his winning streak this year as he has been announced as a performer for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. While being nominated for three awards including Best New Artist and Best Male Artist, he is also expected to deliver material off his critically acclaimed album channel.ORANGE.

The lineup further includes Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink, One Direction, 2 Chainz, Ke$ha, and Alicia Keys, who is set debut the title track off her upcoming album Girl on Fire. The event will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, and aired live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST.

With official pre-orders on the upcoming album being made available today, it's now official the blacked-out cover is actually going to be the artwork chosen for the new project. New York Senator Wants Public Apology from Lil Wayne

In case you hadn't heard, during a recent interview with MTV, Lil Wayne went so far as to saying that he flat-out does not like New York. Expectantly, the strong statement has caused somewhat of an uproar throughout the Empire State, so much so that one NY senator, Malcolm Smith, is asking for a public apology from the Young Money rapper.

"New York City is the birthplace of the Hip Hop music movement. Millions of New Yorkers listen to his music every day. His comments is outraged his local fans and residents. The group today will be demanding an apology of the hip hop star. Lil Wayne has had misfortune in New York with recent gun charges and a jail sentence."

No followup word has been released yet from Wayne's camp, but this should undoubtedly be interesting. Stay tuned.

He just seems to be too fond of controversy, especially when it comes to New York City - the place where he was arrested in 2007 and convicted in 2009 on gun possession charges. It is also the same city where he decided to pull out his label mate Nicki Minaj from this year's Hot 97 summer jam festivities, after having been disrespected by radio personality Peter Rosenberg. Weezy helped Ms. Minaj organizing an intimate concert at the Roseland Ballroom in order to compensate her fans for disappearing at summer jam. Kanye West and Nicki Minaj Might Become Judges in American Idol

It looks like American Idol is looking to add some hip-hop perspective to their judgement system. As TMZ points out, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj have been added to the list of potential judges that “expressed interest” in joining the casting show. Pharrell Williams and Diddy have been previously added to this list. If Yeezy should join this team, he is also expected to cash in seriously, as it would "at least match Mariah's salary" of $18 million a year. Stay tuned and expect a final decision on this really soon as the new seasons kicks off in January.

Trap Tuesday: Vol. 1

On the first edition of Trap Tuesday, I would like to show you tracks that I discovered on Soundcloud. First, there is a new track by the duo Flosstradamus called "Underground Anthem" that takes it back to the roots of trap music with heavy bass and synth undertones. Sampling and chopping the words "underground" also adds to the lively feel of this track

Bassnectar remixing his own song? It must be good. Bassnectar released a trapstyle remix of his own "Vava Voom" song that features Lupe Fiasco. Sampling the original Lupe Fiasco, the beat drops into an echo-ing "ay" coupled with a high synth and hi-hats/snare combination. Although every artist seems to be getting a crack at trapstyle, Bassnectar executes this trapstyle remix flawlessly.

With less than 24 hours to go until DJ Khaled’s Kiss The Ring album drops, the producer drops off another double-track video that includes dancehall artisan Mavado. Suicidal starts off the clip and acts as a homage to the everyday struggles that certain elements of the Jamaican population endure on a daily basis. Aktion Pak vastly contrasts in terms of ambiance with the pace picking up significantly and the inclusion of scantily clad women. Swedish House Mafia feat. John Martin - Don’t You Worry Child

Over the weekend, electronic dance music trio Swedish House Mafia premiered their new single “Don’t You Worry Child” featuring John Martin! On the heels of their highly-publicized hiatus announcement about a month ago, the legendary trio premiered the track on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. The good news is that Don’t You Worry Child has lived up to the massive expectations and is a gorgeous progressive house tune with magnificent vocals from John Martin, who was also featured on Save The World. After Lady Gaga surprised many by showing up to Kendrick Lamar's performance at this year's Pitchfork Festival, today the pop icon turns to her Twitter and revealed that she collaborated with the Compton emcee for a single set to appear on his debut album good Kid, m.A.A.d City. Lady Gaga went on to share:

I am so excited to announce that a record I've been working on has now become a collaboration with @kendricklamar for HIS ALBUM.

Kanye West Speaks on His Writing Process

Some artists use notepads. Some use their phones, and others even napkins. There are a few out there, however, who rarely ever write down their lyrics. This is exactly what Kanye said he had done on all of his previous albums before My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Upon feeling the pressure from fans and the media, Ye knew he had to deliver with said album, so he finally took to jotting down his thoughts.

Exclusive Lupe Fiasco Singles to be released via iTunes

Having just released Lamborghini Angels, Lupe will keep the ball rolling as we get closer to the album release date.

According to iTunes' Complete My Album, we can expect "Form Follows Function" to be released 2 weeks from now on August 28th. Another 2 weeks after that, a previously unannounced song titled "How Dare You" will drop on September 11th.

Be on the look out for the video to B**ch Bad which should be dropping soon, and of course be ready for Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 to be available everywhere on September 25th!


Side note: We can't confirm yet whether the black box in the picture above is the album cover or just a place-holder at iTunes. But considering the format of the artwork for the singles, we can't count anything out when it comes to Lupe.
