PS4 Will Have Colors on the DualShock 4 to Identify Players

The light bar on the DualShock 4 will identify the players. The color/player relation will always be the same. Player 1 will always be blue, Player 2 red, Player 3 green, and Player 4 pink. Also, the light bar on the controller will display health, muzzle flashes from guns and the like.

You can see that the PlayStation 4 has a lot of nifty features that only add to the awesomeness level that the PS4 has attained. We can only begin to comprehend what a revolution the PS4 will usher in.

PS4 OS details leaked

The operating system that is running the PlayStation 4 has been revealed to be FreeBSD 9. The operating system named Orbis OS, is essentially the same as the FreeBSD 9.

The preference of FreeBSD over Linux is due to the more liberal licensing that comes with it. Also the PS4 is now x86_64 based rather than being Cell-based which facilitates the seamless use of FreeBSD.

It comes as a bit of a surprise, though, that FreeBSD is being used when the PS4 runs on an AMD eight-core APU with Radeon graphics. Catalyst driver for any BSD operating system is unavailable right now and the open-source driver ported from Linux with Radeon KMS and Gallium3D is still in a primitive state. We can only speculate that Sony and AMD has developed their own graphics driver or at least ported the Catalyst code-base to BSD.

NBA 2K14 Confirmed on Current & Next-Gen Consoles

One of the most anticipated Game of the Year [2013] (for me at least) is coming soon, and 2K Sports just gave us some awesome details for the game. NBA 2K14 will release on mostly all current-Gen and Next-Generation consoles [except the Wii and Wii U, but might release at a later date]. It will release on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4, & Xbox One.
