As an avid listener of music, I try to expand my horizons on every type of music I listen to. In high school, I used to listen to rock and hip hop music. On the other hand, I grew to like electronic dance music and the different variations within that genre. Euphoric melodies and hard-hitting drums are synonymous with EDM festivals around the world. However, a new genre is starting to emerge called trapstyle music. As defined by many music enthusiasts, trapstyle music is the combination of a hip hop drum pattern with electronic dance music synths. The hard-hitting 808 drums, combined with heavy bass tones and electronic synths, give the listener an adrenaline rush similar to dubstep. Artists, such as Flosstradamus, UZ, and CRNKN, reinvented the craze of electronic dance music and drove trapstyle to new heights. However, one artist surpasses all the critical-acclaim obtained for this particular genre. Luminox, also known as Damage, produced many EDM tracks outside the trapstyle genre. However, his niche in trapstyle makes you wonder why he didn't produce these kind of tracks before. Coupled with crisp hi-hats and bass tones, Luminox takes trapstyle to a new level of EDM music. Check out a couple of his tracks that you might want to add to your DJ set and/or playlist. Like him on Facebook and follow him on Twitter
